How to use Corpus-making calculator?
The Corpus-making Calculator asks the user to enter the following four inputs:
- Corpus Required: The amount one wishes to have by making periodic investments.
- Present Savings: How much current savings one has, which can also be deployed to achieve the corpus amount. If the user has no present savings, one needs to enter “Zero” in this tab.
- Expected rate of return (per annum): The interest rate one can expect on the invested amount during the tenure of the investment.
- Time Period / Tenure (in Yrs): The number of years for which the user's money will stay invested with financial institutions (Banks, NBFCs, Company FDs, etc.).
The Corpus-making Calculator generates the following output for the user:
- Required Monthly Investment: It generates how much monthly savings the user needs to make and invest to achieve the desired corpus.
- Total Invested: It lets the user know how much money they invested as the principal amount during the investment period.
- Interest Earned: It generates how much interest income was added to the investor's portfolio on account of invested money.
- Corpus Acquired: It shows how much corpus one made after making investments and generating interest on them.
It calculates the interest amount based on compound interest. All the interest payments are considered as received at the end of the period.
